Lancaster in the Spring- Review
Just wanted to share our 3 days in Lancaster as this board was helpful in planning it to begin with. Hershey, DW, and Cherry Valley Farms were all closed. And the weather was COLD!!!
Hershey Chocolate Factory-we drove straight there from LI. We did the free ride to see how they make the chocolate, and walked around, got some treats. My kids didn't want to do the 3-D movie, there are other activities there to do.
Willow Valley Doubletree Resort - Stayed here two in nights as I found it on this website. We really liked it. I thought it was very reasonable. Loved in the indoor interactive children's pool, free coffee in the lobby. We did the breakfast package which was typical to most hotel buffets. Four hot dishes (eggs, bacon, pancakes, and potatoes) fruit, yogurt, breads, cereals. It was worth it for us as breakfast is my kids' best meal.
Millers for dinner- Yum. It was delicious. Found coupons on their website.
Strausberg Railroad and Museum across the street- Train ride was nice through the farms, very clean. Museum was fun. Loved the three rooms for the kids with the Legos and train toys.
Isaac's Deli- right next the railroad and the Choo Choo Barn. Sandwiches, soups, very child friendly. I had soup in a bread bowl. It was pretty good.
Kitchen Kettle Village- walked through, unfortunately the weather was pretty cold. Had a small playground and I believe there is a small petting zoo.
