Hey Mom's
When did your little one's "get" the whole trick or treat thing? I want to take her this year but I'm wondering if she'll even grasp what's going on.

Re: Hey Mom's
Sean is totally looking forward to it this year (he turned 3 in July). Last year he was kinda about it. He liked going door to door, but wanted nothing to do with speaking.
I'm so excited for this Halloween. He already picked out his (and his brother's) costumes!!

about not wanting anything to do with speaking, John anthony was the same last year, and luckily enough, last year at the end of the season, I found a tshirt on sale that said JUST PUT THE CANDY IN THE BAG ! I hope I find it for him to wear this year

Andrew is 2 and I have no idea if he gets it yet. I have a feeling though that when we go trick or treating and he starts realizing he's getting candy in the bag, he won't want to stop.

OMG I was thinking the same thing! Aidan probably won't want to go up to strangers and their houses but the millisecond he sees the treat hit the bag he'll be on board! After the first house he'll be happy!

Re: Hey Mom's
Just wait until you have to figure out creative ways to get rid of the candy. After Day 2, I sadly explained that the candy was spoiled. Joseph said "All of it? I guess we have to throw it away." So I said "Yes, these are the only 2 ones I could salvage. The only ones that didn't spoil."
I've probably completely screwed myself. I could see Joseph trying to eat as much candy as he can in 2 days before they spoil.

Re: Hey Mom's
About 2. He didn't get the whole I have to speak to people. But the fact that they were giving away free candy..he didn't care. Days afterwards when he wanted to ring the bells again. took MANY long "we only do this once a year" talks.
