I was told by a few people to just register for a few starters for now, because it really will depend on what the baby likes. We registered for the following two starter kits

AVENT Natural 3-Pack 9-Ounce Bottles

Intended to BF. DD refuses to BF so I pump and give her both BM and formula.

Registered for 3-packs of Tommy Tippee, Playtex Drop Ins, and Playtex Ventaires.

We tried TT first and HATED them! The slowest nipple was way too fast for DD - she dribbled and was super gassy.

Now we use the Ventaires at home and the Drop Ins when we're out.

Re: bottles help

Playtex ventaire were excellent. The vent lets air float out and the baby is much less gassy!

I intend to BF but will also pump...I registered for the Joovy Boob bottles (they seem great) and the Lansinoh mOmma bottles. I also got some Avent Natural bottles in the free sample packages from Motherhood Maternity.

eta: I forgot I also received the Kiinde feeding system...you can pump right into the storage pouch and then pop the pouch into the bottle frame. Excited to try these out.

Dd would only take these - I fb and supplemented with formula. We tried dr browns, born free and one other without any success. Def just register for a few right now until you know what the baby will take.

As far as feeding pumped milk, I have a medela pump and purchased nipples that attach right to the pump bottles

This is what we used for our first DC and now we plan on using them for this baby.

Same for me. I pumped and FF DD and I used Dr. Brown's for both.

I also used Medela bottles at first with my pumped breast milk.

Girls who use Playtex drop ins... is it just the liners that you use and they go in any bottle, or is it an actual Playtex drop ins bottle that is used?

They're used in a specific bottle.

LOVE Dr. Browns, and they fit to the medela pump so you can just pump into them and they are ready lol. No need for all the medela bottles, etc although I did buy bags for freezing

We started with the breastflow bottles (I ebf) and DS liked them so I bought more. They are a lot like the boob.
