1 Hour GD Test in the Afternoon?
Hi girls, I have my 1 hour GD test scheduled for Wednesday at 3:30pm. My office does all the labwork on site so they just scheduled me to do it at the same time as my 28 week appointment with my OB.
I was discussing this with a couple of friends and they thought it was odd to have to do the test in the afternoon after eating all day. Anyone have experience with this? Will this mess with my numbers? Any recommendations of what to eat to have minimal impact?
I'd like to avoid having to take a half day off from work to do the 3 hour for no reason because of food I ate prior to 1 hour. I have heard the 1 hour can be more sensitive to things like this and mistakenly have you flagged for potential GD just because of something you ate. I am worried it might be a mistake to take it in the afternoon instead of first thing in the morning. Thoughts?

If you don't have GD it shouldn't be an issue. I took my 1 hour test in the afternoon (after breakfast, snack, and a lunch) and passed by a lot. This was the case with both pregnancies. Just don't overdo it with carbs.

I have GD and test my blood all day. Your 1 hour test won't be an issue in the afternoon, as long as you eat reasonably all day. I'd just avoid sugar or anything with lots of carbs during the day
