When do they start internals?
I am 38 weeks now and I'm wondering if the doctors start doing internals or if it's normal that they don't? I had the strep b done but don't they usually check you every week now to see if dilated or anything? I had my son 9 years ago and I remember them checking me all the time at the end. But last week I went and the doctor just listened for heart beat. Just wondering because I feel horrendous pains sometimes and I know they are BH because they go away but I'm sure all women wonder if they are dilated or effaced or not. Maybe now it's different.

i'm 38 weeks as well and start tonight :).
I heard each doc is different but mine said 38 weeks for him

When do they start internals?
It depends on the practice. When I was pg with DS 19 months ago, my OBs started checking at 36 weeks. I'm sure you can ask for a check and they will do it.

38 weeks for me but all doctors are diff.

When do they start internals?
Depends on the dr. My last appt. was after 38w and I still hadn't had one. I only got them when I was in the hospital during my induction.

my ob started around 36 or 37 weeks, but from what I understand they're not required? Like you can opt out.
If you can, I would they really friggin hurt!
