Stupid question about disney luggage tags
Ok I haven't taken a trip on a long while lol...theres no spot to put your name...do you use marker or put a sticker on the back with your name? SO excited for Disney in april!!

The Magical Express paper tags? You don't need to add anything to them. They scan them.

Magical express? The yellow soft tags? No you just put them on. I believe there is a scan bar and they code your hotel. You just put the yellow tags on the bags.
Unless you are talking about the hard luggage tags that have Mickey on them and a fill in tag. You do not have to use those hard ones. They are just if you want to put a tag on your bag. I put my DH's business card with our cell phone number on ours so people don't have your address when traveling. You don't need to use those we have a name tag on our actual bag. But some bags don't.

Stupid question about disney luggage tags
they are supposed to have a scan on it? it was the mickey ones..should I call Disney about the ones that is scanned?(I haven't been to Disney) I assume these were the magical express tags(it came with the itinerary)

can you also bring your own luggage as it says it could take 3 hours to bring to room...or do you recommend Disney express doing it....I definetly don't have a barcode scan on the tags we got

The soft yellow ones that come with your magical express info...they say magical express. I think they had a scan on them. Like a bar code....then they have a Mickey head with your hotel code (I think ours said POR on it for port orleans riverside). But yes Ours last year had bar codes they scan so they know who they belong to.
Then there are the hard Mickey tags that you can fill out. Those are blank. You can leave those at home. You can put a business card or write on those. Those are just nice tags they give as part of the package. Those have no bar code bc you need to fill out the card or put a business card in IF you want to use them. They have nothing to do with your trip.

I 100% recommend using ME. It is so easy. (Have you cruised the ME tags remind me of cruise luggage tags?).
It is so easy. In NY you put the tags on, give your bags to the airline, get on the plane and go. When you land you just get off, make a bathroom break and head straight for the ME area. You tap your band/give them your voucher and they put you in a line. We have been lucky and gotten pretty much right away onto a bus. You put your carry one's under the bus. If you have kids...it means no waiting at the baggage carousel, no fighting with luggage while corralling your kids. You luggage just shows up in your room. So easy. I DO pack a suit or change of clothes in my carry on since you won't get your bags right away. But they come about 3 hrs after check in.
Last time my parents went got their luggage, rented a car and got to the hotel the exact same time we arrive on the bus. This way we had a mini van bug did not have to get all the luggage.
You can get your bags, bug you will have to go to baggage claim then lug everything to the bus, get it through the roped lines, put it under the bus. Doable just more work and will take longer.

I am pretty sure ME doesn't do luggage after 10pm you have to get it yourself. But late at night you are rebutted to anyway bc who wants their bags at 1 or 2 am...lol. Surprise...not a great start to the trip.

Misread...thought you arrived at midnight! No I would be pissed. I heard someone got theirs at 2 am...surprise here is your luggage. When did you get in? We land around 10-1 so early in the day it is not an issue.

we have a VERY early flight....I called and we are booked with magical express they just didn't send the tags yet with the barcode...Im still deciding what to do because with a 15 year old who will want to sort all her outfits hair supplies and makeup(yep makeup in Disney) may not be worth hearing her. My son is 9(although ME could be good since he has special needs) but I spoke to my BF and he assures me that he would get the bags if I want him to...but he never took a trip with us like this lol...so lets see what happens after the trip lol but still considering the luggage tags

My son also has special needs, and I have to say, it is a pain to carry the luggage, and expect him to help. The bag is always getting twisted the wrong way, then he drags it etc. But, I just prefer to have my stuff when we get to our room. I'm anal like that though lol. I also make a ton of custom outfits for my DD and if they ever got lost I would die lol.
You could always have your DD pack a small carry on with some of her makeup etc., so she has something with her when she gets to the resort, if you want them to get your bags.

8 pm is late. I would get my bags that late. We always come in the morning or early afternoon. They should tell guests they will only deliver after 10 if the guest calls.

Our flight arrived at 8:30pm and received our bags in our room at 12:30am -- I would've preferred having our bags in the room with us when we arrived.

If we are arriving any time after 7 pm or so, we pack a carry on with the essentials (PJ's, toiletries, etc.) and check our bags with magical express. When we arrive at our hotel, we ask Bell Services to hold our luggage until the next morning. When we get up in the morning, we call downstairs and have the bags sent up.
ETA: ME is very clear that it can take up to 3 hours to get your bags.

I would never do it again. It took hours for it to arrive. We got in in the afternoon early evening and my kids wanted to go to bed around 7 and we still didn't have our bags. I didn't realize it took that long to get them. I would bring them with me next time. I called and they said it could still be a while but it did come shortly after

The little card to fill in all your info (name, address, phone number, etc) is in the booklet they sent you with your vouchers and "coupons." It took me a few minutes to go through the pages and find it. You fill it in, tear them out and slip them in the yellow-orange luggage tags.

Stupid question about disney luggage tags
I actually really like the magic express. I put some essentials on my carry on luggage. Our flight arrived around 6:00, we got to the room around 7:30. We explored the hotel, went to eat and by the time we got to our room at 10:00 our luggage was all there. It was great to just jump off!
