Psychic connection with child?

I had always had a strange connection to my mom in a kind of psychic way. Not allll the time. Just weird moments. Like I would think about a food I hadn't had in 5 years and the next day she would buy it for me. Or I would be thinking about her and she would call(we only speak a few times a month). When I was young if I had a headache or didn't feel well she wouldn't mysteriously bring me medicine even though I was alone in my room and didn't say anything...little things like that.

I think I have the same connection with my daughter. I was thinking randomly about a place I went to as a kid. My daughter come up to me and says "wanna go to xx??" This has happened a few times that she has "read" my mind about something she couldn't have known about.

One thing that has always happened is that if I am restless and can't sleep she is awake too in her room. I make no noise and don't leave the room. I have been awake since 3am and feeling guilty because so has she. She has been quietly talking in her room all night and I feel like it's my fault because I can't relax to sleep!

Ok I know this is all weird but does anyone else have this kind of connection with someone in their life? It can't just be me.

Yes with my husband .....when we were dating it was more frequent bc we were always together and had only time spent with each other alone bc we didn't have children ...nowadays bc of "life" it doesn't happen as frequently but I do notice it sometimes when we are alone talking about random topics....he doesn't believe in this sort of thing so I never made mention to it being "psychic" we just kinda say "well that was weird....I guess we really are meant for each other" in a sarcastic funny way and it gets brushed off ....but I always felt that way about it

Yeah, whenever I wake up a little early and think I'm going to go downstairs and enjoy a few extra minutes of solo peace, they all wake up around 2 minutes later and the whole thing is shot to hell. Does that count?

Seriously, like the pp, I believe I have that with my husband as well. Very frequently, we have these bizarre coincidences where we're thinking the exact thing at the exact moment. Instead of finishing each other's sentences, we start them. I exclaim, "You see! We are made for each other!" He usually rolls his eyes, but I think he really believes it too now.

but of course! I had it with my Dad. We knew who was on the phone before it rang. I know when family is in trouble regardless of distance. Sometimes if its really deep trouble I know before. I used to call my dad to sort out who and what.

Now my daughter will start my day with telling me how it will be and how to prepare for it. And we talk at home about grandpa. She and I actually communicate without words enough that it annoys my husband. LOL I'm American Indian tho.. I always feel its just part of who we are. Its those who choose to ignore or reject it that lose it.

I agree with the two above posters.

I find that kind of connection with my DH for sure. It feels like we're always thinking the same thing at the same time and one of us will usually say something right before the other person was going to say it. I will pick up the phone to call or text him and at that exact moment he's texting or calling me. So weird. We do seem to have a pretty strong connection with one another.

When it comes to the kids, I guess maybe to some degree I'm connected to them but in a different way. I feel like I'm always able to anticipate what they need before they say anything but I think maybe that's just more mommy instinct over a psychic connection. I don't know.

I find with my own mom 99% of the time as I'm thinking to myself, "I haven't heard from my mom all day" I barely finish the thought and I get a text message from her. I always find that strange. It's like she knew I was just thinking of her. Maybe that's some sort of psychic connection, who knows.

I'll mention my mom to dh and she will call or I'll think to call and ask her something and she calls me that second. It happened 2x this week. Sometimes I'll think " I wonder when the girls will wake up" then they do. I kick myself for letting them read my mind but in reality I'm sure it's coincidence.

I have that with my mom. It's weird. I don't recall it as a young kid but it's there now

I will randomly call her and she will just be about to call me (it's not even like there's a pattern where she knows I call at 3 pm or something - it is completely unplanned and spontaneous)

Or I will mention an old recipe she hasn't made in years and ask for it and she will say it's funny because she just came across it in her recipe box.

Little things. It's strange but cool.
