Help! Daycare questions

My Nanny that we use three days a week needs surgery and will most likely not be able to care for my children for three months. I will need to find someone else starting possibly as early as two weeks from now.

I am looking for a daycare facility in Western Nassau County.

Any recommendations?

And do most facilities allow month to month enrollment?

TIA!!

Help! Daycare questions

Where in Western Nassau? That's a bit broad. I would look into in-home daycares rather than a center. Centers (like a Kiddie Academy) typically charge a registration fee.

I live in west Hempstead, and work in Rockvillle Centre. Would consider West Hempstead, Garden City, Rockville Centre, Mineola, Lynbrook, Malverne, East Rockaway, Oceanside.

Re: Help! Daycare questions

We love tutor time I. East rockaway but the partial week care is almost as expensive as full week. There's a registration fee (I think it was around $100), plus a 2-week deposit that goes for your last two weeks' tuition. So there's no long-term contract. You just need to give them 2 weeks notice to apply your security deposit.

Re: Help! Daycare questions

My job offers a connection to Bright Horizons for backup short term/day to day care. Maybe they might be able to help? However, I think they are mainly in Manhattan/Queens and a location in Woodbury. I live in your area and we looked at Tutor Time in East Rockaway, Kids Campus in Lynbrook, Tutor Time in Baldwin, Harbor Care in Mineola (where my child is now, Learn and Play in Mineola, Tutor Time in New Hyde Park and Precious Spirit in Valley Stream {also in New Hyde Park]. I think a traditional large center might be hard though - many have waiting lists and even if they can take you - short term might be very expensive.

Good luck!
