Tuna salad on bagel?

Hi ladies,

I was wondering if you guys think it's safe to have tuna salad on a bagel from a bagel store. The place is reputable, and the turn over of food is fast nothing lying around for days.

I am craving it but a little nervous.

Re: Tuna salad on bagel?

The only concern with tuna is mercury.
I would limit my tuna intake to about once a month when pregnant.
I think you can have it more than that safely, but i just stuck to about once a month

I have to say I was so nauseous the other day and the only thing that appealed to me was turkey wrapped around avocado. So I ate it and I felt better for awhile. If the place is busy with a good turnover I think it would be ok

Albacore tuna is higher in mercury content, so you don't want to consume more than 6oz. per week (I avoid albacore tuna altogether while pregnant).

Canned light tuna can be eaten safely up to 12oz weekly.

It is actually recommended that pregnant women consume 8-12oz of seafood per week.

Eat the tuna bagel!!
