Birthday Party Themes
I have to admit- I am one of those people who LOVE themed parties. For DD's 1st birthday we had a theme and it was just EASY. There was no need to even think about it. But now, for DD's 2nd birthday I am having trouble deciding. One we are having will be for kids at a regular playground and one will be adults only, pizza and wine will be served. that's all we have planned so far. so i want to make the playground one themed somehow, but im not sure how. the same with the adults, id like some theme to base the decorations and desserts off of. the theme just came so easy to me last year and this year nothing seems to fit. any ideas?

Re: Birthday Party Themes
DD first bday was a balloon rainbow colored theme...i used hot air balloons for invites and everything in the party was primary rainbow colors (rainbow rice krispy treats!), lots of balloons etc.
for DD second birthday we had a pony and petting zoo so that was easy ---colors were pastel pink and turq...
dd third bday is at a place and the theme is wiggles (since she loves them!)
I guess if she's into a certain character doing a theme with that is super easy. I would go on pinterest and look at ideas...i'm obsessed with that website...doing a search is easy.
good luck!

Re: Birthday Party Themes
She into princess? Pirates? Always love sesame street and I made the veggies look like the characters for DS's second bday. So easy to do and looks cute.
veggie monsters
I actually did Elmo with tomatoes, olives as the mouth and the eyes were those Chinese food plastic cups filled with veggie dip and an olive and I did Oscar.
Just have a BBQ theme and get the red and white stripe table cloth
BBQ ideas
Give out shovel and pails filled with outside activities.

Birthday Party Themes
Did you ask your DD what she wants? I think by 2 yrs old they're opinionated enough to choose their own theme (favorite movie/tv character, color, book, etc.)

Re: Birthday Party Themes
Well she likes purple and pizza so I was thinking of doing a "Purple Pizza Party". But does that sound weird? Are people going to expect purple pizza?

Nah that sounds cute! Your décor could be all purple, and you're serving pizza!
I don't think anyone will actually expect purple pizza
