DS's 3rd birthday falls on Mother's Day this year
DH & I want to make it a special family day, we will have his birthday party the day before. Any ideas for something to do with 2 kids? My younger son will be almost 14 months, and my older DS will obviously, be 3. We were thinking of either going out east or into Manhattan. Maybe brunch by Central Park or Battery Park and then going to the park? I have been dying to go see the new 9/11 museum but that's kind of morbid for a family day lol, and the boys would get no enjoyment out of it. DH suggested Mystic, but isn't that pretty far for a day trip? Any other ideas? TIA!

My anniversary falls around Mother's Day so we like to do something special each year and we also see both families. Mine in NJ and IL's on Long Island. Nice to meet in the middle
One year we did the Tenement Museum, which was interesting. We had a nice brunch before it.
What about Bronx Zoo?
NY Aquarium and there's one nice restaurant in the area.

The Central Park zoo is nice and would work well after brunch. We went to the Bronx Zoo last year on Mother's day and had a wonderful time, although it was crowded.
