Postpartum soreness - how long??

If you delivered vaginally, when did you feel totally back to normal in your nether regions? And I'm not talking about during sex, because that is a whole other post. I mean like during normal activities and exercise. I'm more than 8w post partum and, while the initial "I got hit by a truck" soreness got better within the first week, I feel like my return to normalcy plateaud. I notice the soreness mostly during certain exercise. It's hard to describe the location - like pain in the boney region of your upper groin where thigh is turning into vulva. If I were to do a lunge, for example, I feel the pain then. And running also causes it to a lesser degree. It isn't horribly painful but annoying enough I don't do lunges or run

Besides pushing for two hours I didn't have a particularly traumatic experience down there. So what gives?

I would bring it up to your dr. I had a fast and furious labor, no epi, pushed three times and that was it but it was very traumatizing for me. the first three weeks pp we're rough! but by 6 weeks I felt much much better and by 8 weeks I def didn't have any of the pain you're describing. hopefully the dr will be able to identify what's going on and get you some relief!!

I have to be honest, I felt 100% in a week or so.
I had a pretty small tear and just a few stitches though. Nothing crazy

I'm 15 days PP and feel normal. The first week or so was rough but this past week has been great.

it took me a few weeks to feel normal, sitting was difficult for long periods of time but i was still able to move around fine. Did you get clearance from your Dr to start exercising?

I would say I felt 90% normal by 6 weeks pp. But I didn't start high intensity exercise for at least another month. I would bring it up to your dr.

I still don't feel back to normal down there 2 years out (though my doc says everything looks great). I had an episiotomy (grade 2 I think?) Anyway it probably was 3 months to feel mostly back to normal but it is not what it used to be. I pushed for 1.5 hours and had a drug free delivery. Was NOT expecting how long it took to heal physically.

It took me a few weeks to feel back to normal...much longer than I thought. Just walking was painful. My dr said my pubic bone got very stretched and needed to fuse back together. They asked me if I wanted a walker in maternity. I pushed about 4 hours and had an episiotomy.

With dc#1 it took a full 6 weeks to feel 100% but I had a 4th degree tear/episiotomy. I was still able to get out and take walks in about a week but it took a little longer to feel back to myself

With dc#2 I was out walking when dc was 4 days old. Totally different.

For me, I felt back to normal quickly but the episiotomy scar was what gave me a problem for afew months

I gave birth vaginally to my almost 9lb DS. I had a 2nd degree tear and subsequent episiotomy. My labor wasn't traumatic in any way and I only pushed for about 30 minutes. I was sore for many many weeks. I didn't expect to be sore for so long and wondered if something was wrong. The episiotomy stitches and scar were not the issue in my case. I had a c-section previously so I didn't have a previous vaginal birth to compare it to. If you do a search on google about post-partum vaginal soreness you'll find info on it and there is evidence that it is more common than previously thought. I am 6 months post-partum now and am perfectly fine. I don't remember when the soreness stopped but it was sometime after 8 weeks. Hang in there.

Honestly, I felt back to normal within a week. I only had 2 stitches though
