When did your DC learn how to blow their nose?
DD is sick, yet again, with another ear infection, so she is congested. She sees us blowing our noses, we've tried showing her how to do this, but ends up sniffling instead of blowing out.
When did your DC learn how to effectively blow their nose?
DD states she can't and gets frustrated, so we've been clearing out her nose and she hates the feeling.

Any suggestions on how to teach her to do this? She's almost 3.
We've had her blow a tissue with her mouth and then told her to try with her nose instead and she just ends up sniffling instead of blowing out.

My son is almost 3.5 and I think he's starting to get it now...my girls were about that age too. I think it's hard for them to understand the blowing out of your nose thing; they'd put the tissue up to their nose--or I would--then they'd blow out of their mouth...lol.

I just told him to blow with his nose & I covered his mouth with my hand so that he was forced to blow through his nose & when he realized that "stuff" was coming out, he was excited.

We have been trying since he was a year but probably really got it around 2.
We just kept telling him to breathe out his nose hard though

My DD is 3 and I ask her how a dog smells and she blows out, LOL. So that's what we do.

DS learned at about 20 months. He copied us. Now we just hand him a tissue and he does it himself most of the time.

When did your DC learn how to blow their nose?
Try with a bubble wand. Cover his mouth and get him to blow the bubbles with just his nose. (helps if he isn't congested when you do this...)
