Re: Is there a car seat website

I don't think there is a "best" one. They all have to meet the same safety requirements. Its all about what one fits best in your car, and what you're looking for for your child. If you go to like babies r us, etc they will let you take one outside and try it out in your car to see how it fits in there, etc.
some of the more expensive ones might be easier to use... as far as getting the cover off to clean it, straps not getting twisted, etc). But that's not always the case.
you need to look at the height and weight limits on them, too. I remember reading that most kids outgrow them by height before they outgrow it by weight.
there are some that go from a convertible car seat, to a high back booster (that you use with just the car seat belt). those are nice because they have higher weight limits on the harness (meaning you can use the harness until your child weighs more... the longer they're in the harness, the better.)
for what its worth... I have a 2011 Toyota RAV 4. my son is 3 years, 4 months old. He is about 37 inches tall, and maybe 32 pounds. We have a Britax Boulevard. The seat goes up to 49 inches tall and 70 pounds. So he will still be in this seat for awhile. I really like it. the cover is easy to get off for washing, the straps hardly ever get twisted, they are easy to adjust. It has "head wing" things, which are nice for when he falls asleep in it. It IS a little bulky, though... and when my ILS are visiting and its MIL and me back there with DS... its tight. but, its not horrible.

Although some might not like this group on FB I personally think they give valuable information.

There is no "best" or "safest" all seats pass the same tests to be on the market. A lot of the $$ you pay for is to get "bells and whistles" more padding, cup holders, extended rear facing limits (beyond the recommended two years old)

Personally I have a Graco My Size and I really like it for my car (2003 chevy cavalier) I like that it will rear face until she is beyond two (she's a peanut so I want to keep her RF until closer to 3 probably) it would actually fit my 3.5 year old son RF still (he's 37# 38")

I like that the seat is able to harness her until 70 pounds as long as the straps come out from above her shoulders. This seat will more then likely get her to am age that I am comfortable putting her in a booster (at least 6/7 years old)

Car seat for the littles or car-seat.org are both fantastic resources but always put hands on a seat and try it out yourself.

The "best" seat is always the seat that fits your vehicle, fits your child, is installed properly and used properly
