Never been, but the reviews were not good when I looked into Village. Mostly that nothing has been updated in 40 years. The Crestview section is nice and updated.

I have never been because the reviews are always so bad. But it comes up often for my timeshare, so I would love to hear your review after you go.

Re: Wyndam Shawnee Village Poconos

We just got back from 6 days at the Wyndham Shawnee Village and had a great time. Our unit was located in Ridge Top Summit #249. It was a spacious 2bd 3 bth unit and very clean. It had all the kitchen conveniences, and a washer/dryer. The resort had a daily schedule of activities for kids and adults which was good but it seemed to be overrun by rowdy teens most of the time. I would have preferred something broken down more by age groups. Our party had kids 5-8 yrs old. The kids enjoyed the salt water pool, mini golf, sidewalk chalk, arts-n-crafts, ice cream social, karaoke, just dance. We couldn't really get into the gymnasium to play volleyball or kickball due to the crowds playing basketball.

The Recreation Center which is where everything is was very crazy at times with people behaving less than desirable. On several occasions I saw the staff putting up with BS from the patrons. They were very courteous and professional. Lifeguards were good at keeping on top of the riff raff in and around the pool which was good. Surrounding area around our unit was very quiet and peaceful.
My one main problem was with their garbage dumpsters. They are not very secure and pretty much on a daily basis the wildlife would pull out garbage bags and there would be garbage strewn all around the property. I called about a particular area on our 2nd day and it was still there upon leaving this morning. Other than that, we had a great time on and off the property. I would definitely go back.
