Can you share your sleeping arrangements? R&P vs P&P? Bassinet? Crib? Swing? I kinda want to make sure there is a difference in where he naps vs where he sleeps…thanks!!!

We wanted DD to nap in a place other than where she went for nighttime sleep; she took naps in the R&P. She slept in the P&P in our bedroom until we moved her to the crib in her room around 3-4 months. We will not do that when this LO arrives.

DD got so used to napping on an incline that we had serious difficulty once she outgrew the R&P. Even though she slept flat at bedtime, she just wouldn't nap on a flat surface. It's been a long battle, but she does, finally, nap in her crib now (it took MONTHS).

Obviously, everyone's experience is different. I'm sure there are people whose children make an easier adjustment, but for us, it was such a pain that we won't make that mistake again.

One thing we DID do that we will be doing again: we only used the Halo swaddle at bedtime, never naps.

I know this has been asked but I can't find the forum..

In the beginning dd napped in her swing and slept in her rnp. At 7 weeks she was in her crib at night and still napped in her swing. At 4 months she started napping in her crib.

When she napped and slept for the night in her crib there was always a difference in routine. Nap I just walk in and out her down. Bedtime she gets a massage with aquaphor, only the lamp is on, white noise machine, read a few books in the glider, bottle and crib. She has slept 12 hours since 3 months.

We tried the bassinet with my DS but he hated it so he slept in the RnP in our room until 7 weeks. At 7 weeks he moved to the crib. Since then he sleeps in the crib and naps in his PnP.
With our next baby, we'll try the bassinet again and/or the RnP.

We are going to have him sleep in the bassinet at night for 4-6 weeks and then move him to his crib. We plan to have him nap in the rock and play.

Bassinet part of the P and P at night until baby STTN (in our room) then will move to crib. For naps: swing, pack and play, crib.

He was in the RNP for naps (in the living room) and sleep (in his room) until he was about 8 weeks I think and then right into the crib in his room.

Both our boys slept in their cribs in their own rooms right from the start. In the first few weeks they napped wherever- PNP, swing, in our arms, etc. By a month or two old though, we had them napping in their cribs as well.

dd1 was in her crib from night 1 but it was in our room. now dd2 is in the rnp at night and during the day she will either nap in the pack and play napper or her crib.
