Help! Horrible dry skin suddenly.

DD is 2 and never really had an issue with dry skin. Over the course of the past week- her skin has become horrible. Her entire body is so dry and itchy. It feels like sandpaper. I cut down baths to 2/3 times per week and I am careful about what I use to wash her clothes. I have been putting coconut oil on her every night but it doesn't seem to be helping. I don't understand why this happened so quickly and out of the blue (no allergies, ect). Does anybody have any suggestions for creams, soaps, or anything that will make her skin better? I prefer to use only natural products but at this point I am willing to try anything. Thanks!

Help! Horrible dry skin suddenly.

When i see dd starting to get dry as soon as she gets out of the tub I rub acquaphor on her entire body. A bit greasy but it works! Normal days i use eucerine. Also not sure what she is eatin but dairy can play into this. Maybe try cutting back dairy or even out for a few days to see if it helps

Help! Horrible dry skin suddenly.

I have chronic dry skin and the only thing that works for me is cetaphil cream. It comes in a jar and is very thick, but it works amazingly!

We give DS showers instead of baths most days and put cocoa butter or coconut oil on. Also, is she eating enough fats? See if she'll eat avocados.

I agree! I was just going to suggest Aquaphor and Eucerin. DS has the same issue. The Dr said it could be related to his asthma.

It's the weather. DD has incredibly dry skin, we use coconut oil 2-3 times a day if needed. It works really really well.
