Positive preterm labor test and preterm contractions...did you actually go early?
If you had a positive preterm labor test and preterm contractions, did you actually end up going early?
I went to the hospital for pelvic pain and pressure and it turns out I have a UTI, positive preterm labor test and preterm contractions. They told me that a positive is not a good indicator of when baby will come. Just that I am at risk of preterm labor. They gave me a shot of steroids which i have to go back for another tomorrow to be sure babies lungs are developed.
I think basically it seems like all symptoms can be tied back to dehydration so I'm thinking if i just up my water intake and take my antibiotics I can correct this. right?

I had a positive at around 27w and was put on bed rest and meds for contractions. I held out till 34w6d. Good luck!

Have them test you for BV also. Mimics UTI symptoms and can reek havoc!
I had a positive pre- term labor test (ffn) between 27&28 weeks after pelvic pain (it was an infection). I was also having minor contractions at about 29 weeks and was put on procardia (nothing I could feel, but the NST picks them up)
I delivered DS at 30w4d after my water broke. FM me if you have any questions!! Did they send you for steroid shots for the lungs?

thank you for sharing your experience! They didn't nail down that it was UTI and not BV but she suggested it would likely be UTI. They put me on antibiotics (macrobid) anyway just to start tackling whatever infection it may be. I will get results of urine test tomorrow to know for sure. They gave me my first steroid shot today and I go back for the second tomorrow.

Re: Positive preterm labor test and preterm contractions...did you actually go early?
I had preterm labor, began dilating, and had a positive ffn at 30 weeks 4 days...I was on modified bed rest for the rest of my pregnancy (took myself off at 37 weeks) and delivered at 40 weeks 1 day! My ob didn't choose to stop the contractions with drugs due to my other risk factors (high blood pressure, GD).
