Booking Sites

Has anyone used Expedia/Orbitz for international vacation packages? I want to do an Istanbul/Paris trip this September. Is it better to book the flight and hotel together or separately? And is it better to book with the individual hotels and airlines or use booking sites? I know sometimes people have issues with booking with sites like Expedia so I'm not too sure.

For a big trip like that I would probably look into using a travel agent. If anything were to go wrong, you have someone on your team who knows how the system works. Of course, do your own research to make sure you're getting a good price, but I think a TA is the way to go.
