I was advised to stay away from the britax because my dd is 99th percentile height. Everyone keeps recommending the chicco nextfit which I can get at target right now for $209 a piece.

Anyone have one? Are you happy with it?

I don't have one but my friend just got one and it seems really nice. Her dd loves it and they have a smaller car a ford focus and it's fits well in there. I've read a lot of great things about them. I know they are long lasting and good for taller kids.

Another option for tall kids would be one of the Graco "clones" (mysize, size4me, headwise, fit4me, contender) the names vary based on what store you buy it from. There's also small differences such as chip holder, padding, infant insert etc.

The seat can stay rear facing until the child reaches 40 pounds or has 1" of room from top of headrest in its most extended position. My 3.5 year old is 38" and 38 pounds and would still have a good 8-9" above the top of his head if the headrest was extended all the way. He would obviously outgrow it by weight before height for rearfacing.

I have a 4 door 2003 Chevy cavalier and my daughter's seat is behind the passenger seat. There's not a ton of room but I'm 5'5" and can sit in the front okay. My husband is 5'11" and can fit but his knees are practically in the dashboard.

Personally I didn't like the Chicco at all when I sat my daughter in it. She seemed squished and she is only 18 pounds and 29"at 13 months (a peanut)
