OBGYN recommendations

Looking for new obgyn recommendations. I’m currently with Gus SanRoman’s office in Port Jeff and he’s the only good thing about that office if you get to see him and don’t have a 2 hour wait doing so.

We’ve been TTC baby #2 for over a year and I’m not happy with how Dr. SanRoman’s has been handling our situation. Also looking to VBAC and would love to hear if you’ve had a great experience with someone! Sorry to be so specific but I’m really trying to find us a good fit.

TIA ?

Re: OBGYN recommendations

I switched because of the same thing. The practice has changed so much in the past year or so. I felt bad because I really did love Dr. San Roman but was so fed up with the wait time and the new NP.

I switched to Stony Brook OB in Setauket.. So far I've been happy with them. I switched at 16 weeks and am almost 26 now. Wait times are not usually more than 10 minutes or so, although I did have to wait longer when I had my anatomy scan.

I actually saw them once the last time I was pregnant and they were open to VBAC when I asked about it. But then I found out Stony Brook Hospital didn't take my insurance at the time and couldn't stay wit them, which is when I switched to San Roman (and saw Dr. White there).

Re: OBGYN recommendations

I use Dr. Thomas Erhart and Dr. Sylvia Tufano in PJS (off Rte 112).

There is also Dr. Funt / Dr. O'Keefe in Setauket, NY (off rte 25A). A colleague saw them when they were having fertility issues and she delivered twin boys at SB.

I'm not sure about the VBAC specifically, by I go to Three Village Women's Health in Setauket bc Dr. Davenport delivered DS and the hospital told me that if I literally had any other dr. I would have been a C section. I figured she would be the last to push me to induce/ etc. since they told me she has the lowest c section rate of the hospital. Wait time is under 10 mins.

With DS I went to Stony Brook OBGYN and saw Dr. O'Keefe and LOVED him. Wait time was also under 10 mins. Hes a little quick though to be in and out, but answers anything if you remember to ask lol

I go to Stony Brook OBGYN and see Dr O'keefe- have been going there over 9 years! I was having some difficulty getting pregnant (not getting my period/ not ovulating) at about 6 months, I met with O'keefe and he ordered some tests, but rather than wait I went straight to an RE (so glad I did) and 8 weeks into my pregnancy was released back to O'keefes care.... while vbac is not an option for me this time (3rd baby-first 2 were C-sections) he made it very clearly that if I wanted a vbac with #2- he was fully supportive!

Re: OBGYN recommendations

Thank you so much ladies!!!

I have an appointment with O'Keefe next week. So glad to hear good things about their office! They did mention they work with Three Village Womens Health. I'm hoping this will be a good fit for me and we'll have a BFP soon!!!

Also, congratulations and wishing you both great pregnancies and deliveries!
