Pocono Attractions
DH and I booked a short getaway to the Poconos in 2 weeks. We're staying at Cove Haven, but it doesn't look like there's much to do during the winter months besides skiing and tubing. Any local attractions to check out?

I believe there is a casino nearby.
Not sure if the falls are open yet at Bushkill

Did you check out Cove Haven's entertainment schedule for while you are there? We go to Mohegan Sun (it's not huge) which is about 45 minutes away and then eat at Cracker Barrel after. We've also checked out the Scranton railroad Museum and toured the old mines (not sure if they are open during the winter.) There really isn't too much to do until weather warms up. Hope this helps, enjoy your trip!

Re: Pocono Attractions
Most of their activities happen Dec - Feb then it is a low time until the Lake thaws
I assume that meals are included in your room package. otherwise I could suggest some great places to eat in the area. Fairviewlakecafe.com (GREAT food – BYOB http://www.greshamschophouse.com/ Hawley Burger Company
only other place I could suggest is Countrystore84.com
its a fun little tourist trap.

You can go antiquing in Hawley, there are a bunch shops along route 6 north of Lake Wallenpaupack. There is also a glass museum in town and a candle shop somewhere nearby.
Have dinner at Erhardts, food is ok, but nice sunset views at the Lake. The Boat House next door is our favorite. Not sure if their tasting rooms are open, the Antler Ridge Winery has a few locations.
If weather is OK, hike around the Lake or head to the Lacawac Sanctuary down by Lake Ariel.
Callie's Candy and Callie's Pretzels, both on route 390.
OMG, we loooove Country Store 84. They have lots of samples to taste...fudge, dips, chutneys, etc. etc. The sculputures in the front are cool, every year my kids take a picture on the big chair. If they are cooking outside (the Pickled Pig), try the bbq, absolutely amazing.
