anyone who was on bed rest during their pregnancy

wondering what everyone's experience was once they came off bed rest. i was put on bed rest at 28w 3d due to preterm contractions and an irritable uterus.... my cervix has remained closed & long this whole time! i got sent home on progesterone suppositories & bed rest orders. i have a history of preterm birth (my son was born at 34w, 3d so my OB is being very cautious)

i'm currently 34w & saw my OB yesterday who is keeping me on bed rest & progesterone for another 2 weeks until 36w... after that we will see what my body does!! wondering who has experience with this & how long they lasted after bed rest and/or meds were stopped. my cervix is still long & closed

I'm curious as to this also. With DS, I delivered while on bedrest. My OB currently says she will take me off bedrest at 36 1/2 weeks.

I was on strict left side only bed rest for almost 9 weeks with my son, but I was really ill for a few weeks before then too. I was only allow up for going to the bathroom, doctor's visits, and I was only permitted to shower 2x a week. I had muscle atrophy from really not moving around so much. So if you can do leg lifts, and leg exercises, use some weights I would find out if you could do that to help prevent muscle atrophy. Since I was on such strict bed rest I was not able to drive for 6 weeks (I had an emergency c/s as I missed my planned c/s.)

I would try to walk as soon as you can and do some light weight exercises under doctor's care. I would speak to your obgyn and your GP about a planned exercise routine post natal to help you get you back on your feet. Good luck.

I was on bedrest from 22 weeks until I delivered.

At 34w3d I had my last appointment with my high-risk dr and was scheduled for a c/s at 35 weeks due to various issues.

Went into labor on my own the next day and they could not stop the labor. My cerclage tore and I was dilating despite strict bedrest, procardia every 4 hours around the clock, etc. I had my c/s that day at 34w4d.

I went on bedrest at 36wk because my cervix was thinning and I was 2 cm dilated. I was checked weekly and there were no changes. My water broke and I went into labor 2 days after my last doctor's appt. I was exactly 39 weeks.

Drs took me off bed rest both pregnancies at 36 weeks. I was opening up at 36 wks, stayed on rest (myself) until 38 weeks, both kids were born the next day after I started moving around as normal.

I was on bed rest from week 25-36. From what I recall, I was only taking procardia. I was able to return to life at 36 weeks and at 38 weeks exactly my water broke and out he came.

Bed rest at 29 weeks due to preterm contractions, short cervix and low fluid. Delivered at exactly 37 weeks because l was induced due to low fluid and cord on her body.

I had twins so a bit different since my issue wasn't a weak cervix but just the weight of the twins shortened it. I went on at 26 weeks and was told I could do a little more at 36 weeks. I went shopping at pottery barn on a Sunday for about an hour and delivered mom night at almost midnight. Just at 36 weeks. My dr said I was 2 cm dilated so he wanted to get me in. I'm still not sure how far I could have gone being dilated though.
