Prenatal Vitamins
Which ones do you take? Can you buy them OTC or does your dr prescribe them?

ETA - you should ask your doctor if they want you to have the extra DHA supplment. im not sure why, but my doctor wanted me to take the DHA which the gummies do not have.

Prenatal Vitamins
I bought some organic all natural ones with DHA from vitamin Shoppe. The ones my dr recommended actually had TUNA OIL in it! I was very shocked she suggested these as well as RAINBOW making a prenatal that contains tuna oil!!

Re: Prenatal Vitamins
I take the CVS brand. Just picked up new batch today...they're on sale BOGO. They're usually always on sale.
eta: I took the CVS gummy ones for a month or two but then switched over to the pills. I've heard a lot of women get a lot of cavities with the gummy ones. The increase in your hormones can reek havoc on your teeth and gums so avoiding the gummies is a good idea. They also didn't have as much of the nutrients as the pill ones that I take now.

Vita fusion has DHA although it does NOT contain iron.

Pick up prenatals in general they have more folate. I was actually told to start taking them before we started TTC.

I'd pick up a bottle and start taking them. My doctor never asked what kind I was taking, how many, or anything like that. Just asked if I was taking them.

Prenatal Vitamins
I was taking Vita Fol for the first 30 weeks of my pregnancy and they were costing me $50/ month. I went this week to refill and the $ was increased to $ 75... Now I draw the line. I called my dr and he said the cvs ones were fine with the DHA and they were BOGO!

Re: Prenatal Vitamins
I take Walgreens brand with DHA in them and a extra folic acid pill a day since the over the counter ones don't have the same amount as the prescribed prenatal my dr said to just add a extra folic acid with the over the counter prenatal.

Prenatal Vitamins
I take PNV DHA which is like a generic prescription one. My dr told me not to take OTC bc legally they cant put enough Folic Acid in it so you would have to take a supplement, and to take a prescription one bc you get enough of everything. I pay $10 or $20 every 3 months.
