FTWM and pre-school/pre-k

How do you get your kids to and from pre-school or pre-k?

As it stands now, DS is at an in-home daycare. I can ask the babysitter if she could get him to pre-school, but I can't rely on her to do it every day. Me and DH both work and other family members also work.

What do you do?

Re: FTWM and pre-school/pre-k

My daycare center has a preschool and pre K program.
That was one of the many reasons I chose them from the start.
I knew that these few hour a day/few day a week preschools and pre K's would NOT work for us in the long run.
So she does her program there- whatever they do with them- but the rest of the day is daycare until 6 or 630 pm.
I can't see any other way it would have worked out for us.

Right now, DD is in a family-group daycare. When she is 3, we will change her to a nursery/preschool program that has before and after care to cover the full hours that we need.

My daycare has a program and thats where he will stay. Its easier so I don;t have to worry about before and after care.

I'm sending DS to pre-k in the fall. We went with the catholic school by the house because they have before care and I can drop him off as early as 730. They also have after-care but my mil will probably pick him up after school

We have a bus service (private) that we share with some kids.

DD's preschool/pre-k offers full day/extended day options. I drop her off in the morning on my way to work and pick her up on my way home (around 5 pm).

Our daycare has a program. We did apply for UPK in our area though and if he gets that, daycare will transport him to/from (for a nominal fee).

Can you look into a preschool that has before/after care options?

We dropped her off at 7ish and we picked her up after work.
Both of us work full time and have no family alternatives (here only in extreme cases and in NY none at all).

Sorry but am I missing the question here?

Can you not drop him off because you both leave too early and they aren't open?

I would look for a daycare that offers pre-k as well.

Re: FTWM and pre-school/pre-k

I work from home, so I take him back and forth 2 days a week or the babysitter drives him when I am on the road for work. My inlaws take him one day when they watch the kids.

If I didn't have that help/work from home, I would just use a daycare.
