can some one explain to me...BF?
I've been EBF my DD but am going back to work soon and will need to give bottles and probably supplement. I'm going to pump 1x a day and nurse her in the morning and at night. Her feeding schedule changes every day - she eats every 2.5 hours but the times she eats all depend on what time she wakes in the morning. So what should I do before she starts daycare? should i try and get her on a more set schedule? Also if she is getting a bottle i think her feedings will be more spread out during the day. Just not sure what i need to be doing to prepare for the change, any suggestions? With DS he was on formula before he went so it was much easier! Should i start pumping 1x a day and giving her bottles the week before she goes? She will take a bottle, DS has given her a couple when i wasn't home - but then she gave me a hard time nursing after it.

how old will you be away from her? I pump twice at work I get about 7-8 oz total I give my parents 3-4 bottles at a time they are the small 5oz one. she would go thru at least 2 -3 in that 8 hour period. I would nurse her before I dropped her off and when I pick her up. she was 3 months on this schedule now she is almost a year and eating solids so it has changed but she never went past the 5oz bottles. she only get them during the work week when I'm home its me only :) I started pumping almost a month before I went back I would pump once during the day and once at night since that is when I would get the most out. then put them in freezer bags

This was very similar to my experience. I would pump 3x in the beginning, then 2x for a few months. My DS would take the 4 oz bottles, never any bigger, prob 2- 2.5 hours apart. Nursed when I picked him up. BF only on the weekend. GL!

You will probably need to pump more than 1x a day. I pumped 3x a day to get the milk for DS. It wasn't until I started to transition him to whole milk (12 months) that I cut it back to just 2x a day. I had DH give DS a bottleso that we knew he would take it when I was away (I pumped during this time so my body woudn't miss the feeding). I would nurse DS all other times and around 6 weeks started pumping almost after every feeding to build up my freezer stash. I nursed any other time DS was with me. For me personally I kept DS at size 1 nipples. That I think helped the transition from breast to bottle. He always had to work to get the milk out.
