LA / San Diego reccommendations
I'm planning a trip flying into LA and driving to San Diego with my cousin for a girls vacation.
We are thinking of spending two nights in LA and 3-4 in San Diego.
What are some must see's?
Places to stay? Eat? People watch? Best beaches?

LA / San Diego reccommendations
DH & I did a similar trip (took Amtrak from LA to SD - beautiful ride! right along the beach, once you get out of LA) ... we stayed at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, right on the Blvd, across from the Chinese Theater and the Dolby Theater (Oscars) - we didn't have a car and it was great just to cross the street for all of the bus tours from the Chinese Theater (TMZ tour was fun) ... in SD, we stayed with fam but the Zoo was awesome, La Jolla was beautiful, Gaslamp District was fun - enjoy! ...

Loved loved loves la Jollal, I felt like I was destined to live there 
We visited Malibu - (Zuma beach- beautiful) , Laguna beach, Manhattan beach, Venice, Santa Monica. I wasn't crazy about Venice, wouldn't go again. Have breakfast at the cottage in La Jolla, o my goodness , the stuffed French toast is ridic, yum.
Coronado island is gorg, especially the beach by the Coronado hotel. Gas lamp headquarters is nice for dinner/ drinks.
We went to Beverly Hills, and drove through Hollywood. Hollywood was ok, we didn't even get out of the car, just drove through.
We stayed at lowes in Coronado, and a chain in Santa Monica (can not remember right now)
We did a lot of what LSP said in her review, all the parks and going to Anaheim . It was my favorite trip, I just love CA
We also flew into LAX and drove to SD, it is SO MUCH FUN
