Vacation house in PA

DH really wants to look into getting a place in Pennsylvania. We have no idea where to start! Poconos area maybe? Masthope? Any advice on where to start this search/ nice areas etc? We'd of course love to be near things such as ski slopes, etc. to go with the kids. TIA!

Vacation house in PA

My family has rented houses in the Poconos several times. Usually through Homeaway.com.

We've stayed in Lake Harmony and Saw Creek.

There are a lot of nice areas in the Poconos. I think you need to make a list of must haves and dislikes to establish what you really want. This may help to guide you to certain developments.

Masthope is nice. It has skiing...small mountain but great for kids. Outdoor pool, tiki bar and lake with a little restaurant/bar. I think their beach area and lake is overcrowded though. JMO.

Fawn Lake Forest across the lake from Masthope has a bigger beach area but not as nice of sand, lol. It has the lake and outdoor pool in the same area which is nice because you don't have to move around from one to the other by driving etc. It has an indoor pool.

Woodloch I believe their are many options for this the Springs for instance. It has golf, indoor/outdoor pools. It's right across from the Woodloch spa :) I would imagine it is in a different price range then masthope or Fawn Lake.

Hope this helps a little.

Thank you for the feedback! Masthope was the first place I was thinking about looking.
