Food to carry around for 1yr old
What foods do you take along when you go somewhere?
Today, we brought some cucumber, a small tupperware of cut up turkey, and I always have emergency Cheerios (though I try not to use these often).
What do you keep on-hand for your children for when you're out for the day? Now that we're off formula and baby food, I feel like I need easy carry, healthy options.

I keep some freeze dried fruit in my diaper bag. I'll also stick a string cheese in there before we leave and I also keep a fruit/veggie pouch in the bag.

I tend to not pack things that require an ice pack.
Nutrigrain bars ( different brands but that type) Freeze dried fruit/ veggies Yogurt in the pouch (no refrigeration needed ones) Applesauce
I usually get real food when we are out for her for meals, I don't pack that.

What about when you're out for the day, not just snack foods?
I found that I was always doing "snack" foods as meals when we were out. But I would bring a small cooler bag. As long as she had milk and some cheese, I was satisfied with the meal. I always pack fruit and cheerios too. So here are some options: -milk and/or water -slices of cheese (cheddar, mozz, swiss, sometimes cottage cheese if i was able to sit down and spoon feed her) -Annie's brand whole wheat bunny crackers -cheerios (well cascadian farms purely o's) -fruit: banana, applesauce, dole fruit cup (in 100% water), or fresh fruit I cut up for her -I also carry a ton of packaged snacks that I get from buy buy baby or target baby section- like the Ella's kitchen munching biscuits or fruit bars (i think they are called nibbly fingers). DD is 18 months now, but when she was 12 months she loved the Rice Cakes (i think the brand was called happy baby) and teething biscuits (I think I used Earth's best brand?)

I only carry snack foods with me. IF we are out for the day we will be going somewhere for a meal so my DS would eat out with us by that age.

I'd take a sunbutter/jelly sandwich and a banana or applesauce pouch if we needed a meal on a day out and about.
Sometimes I'll freeze a yogurt tube (Chobani makes them) and by the time it has to be eaten its defrosted.
Or I make a snack mix of cheerios, yogurt melts, freeze-dried fruit.

Re: Food to carry around for 1yr old
I never really carried much food. If I were to eat a meal at, let's say a sushi place, I'd bring an avocado & Cheerios. Otherwise, I'm not a big believer in snacks and constant eating.
