What type of vitamins is your two year old taking?
Since my son turned 1 years old, his pediatrician prescribed a liquid multi vitamin of which contains a small amount of fluoride. I recently have been finding articles that fluoride is dangerous and I would like to find a safer vitamin.
Can anyone recommend theirs without flouride?
It's very concerning how these doctors and pharmaceutical companies push things on people let alone babies.

Does your drinking water have fluoride? Ours does, so we don't need any. Our dentist does do a fluoride treatment. We really focus on healthy eating, so our ped doesn't recommend vitamins.

What type of vitamins is your two year old taking?
I guess I should ask ped, but she's turning 3 and doesn't take one. Is it really recommended? Dd eats well, plenty of fruits veg meats and milk.

My 3 year old takes Animal Parade Chewables (at health food stores). My doctor doesn't insist on them but I like to give her one a day to make up for any gaps in her diet.
ETA: Doc recommended this brand. She is anti-fluroide.

I'm curious as well, I stopped those liquid vitamins when I stopped giving DS formula... I haven't been giving anything since and he's 18 months, but I guess I should ask at his next ped appt.

Re: What type of vitamins is your two year old taking?
DD will be 3 in April, She takes a chewable vitamin her ped prescribed, but it has fluoride in it. I was advised when she turns 3, the fluoride will be removed and she will be placed on a new multi-vit, but I don't know what that will be until her 3-yr check-up.

Flouride is dangerous in large doses--vitamins have a very controlled amount in them because research as shown the benefits outweigh the risks. Just make sure you research both sides before you make your decision (if you haven't already).
However if you are uncomfortable with them you can have your ped prescribe one without fluoride or suggest an OTC--just ask!

Re: What type of vitamins is your two year old taking?
I believe there is more benefit than harm in the fluoride. Our water is not fluoridated so both my 2 year old and my 4 year old take chewable multivitamins with fluoride.

I questioned why the ped would suggest these vitamins on my son. He always ate very well and very healthy, like your child.
I was told because Suffolk County water does not have flouride or enough flouride in it...
