How late will your doctor allow you to go before inducing?

Just got home from an appt. I saw a different doctor in my practice, who is not my normal doctor. I have seen this one before though, and I like him a lot. But we happened to get into a conversation about being overdue (I'm only 29 weeks now, but I went late with both my first two). He said that he will not allow anyone to go past 41 weeks. With my second, I was 41w2d when I went into labor. My doctor had me come I think every 2 days once I was overdue for a NST and monitoring and everything, but said at the time that he would allow me to go to 42 before inducing. This doctor today said that back in the day, when he was training, the thinking was 42 weeks was acceptable, but the current recommendation is that it is not safe to go past 41. I have heard of plenty of other docs that will allow women to go to 42 though, so just curious what everyone's doctor on here says. This conversation today left me feeling uneasy, like I might get pushed into an induction that I don't want.

I picked other bc they would have let me go a little past 41 weeks, but probably not to 42 weeks. I had an NST at 41 weeks and my fluid was low, so I was induced at 41 weeks 1 day, and that process took about 24 hours...and finally had a c-section at midnight on the 9th day...

Had my fluid not been low, I think we would've taken it say by day to see how it went.

Each dr is different and it depends on your situation

My dr wouldn't let me go past 40 weeks but I never made it that far.

My doctor induced me at 40 weeks 4 days with my dd and it was successful, she said she wouldn't have done it if she wasn't confident it would work

I saw an associate of my OB's last week and he said the practice does not allow women to go past 41 weeks but I am going to see what my OB says when I see her tomorrow.

With DS I was pretty insistent and they scheduled my induction for 5 days after my DD but luckily I went on my own before

At my 36w appt, my dr said he will discuss scheduling an induction if I go past my due date b/c of GD.

My dr. will schedule induction around 42 weeks if you haven't gone by then. She said the average first time momma will go naturally around 41 weeks +2-3 dys so she didn't recommend inducing prior to that. I had spontaneous labor at 41 weeks 1 day and was glad she never pressured me into inductoin

My dr says 42 weeks but it depends in the baby
I would have to go for nst every two days and assuming fluid levels and good and baby is active and not weighing too much she will allow 42 w
Last year With dd I was scheduled to be induced at 41w5d but went into labor 41w1d
