3rd birthday planning

DD turns 3 on May 15th. DS is due on May 7th.

For the past 2 years we've had her birthday party on the weekend right after her birthday so that would mean this year either the 17th or 18th - DS would be roughly 10 days old.

I was going to have it on Memorial Day weekend but my brother and his whole family are out of town.

I could push it into june but then there is a family wedding and then its my moms birthday and fathers day. I could do it the last weekend in April but what if DS comes early...

We would only be inviting family and maybe 2-3 friends and it would be a bbq at my mother in laws house. DD is really looking forward to her birthday so i am leaning towards just doing it on May 17th since its not a big thing and it will be casual.

Taking everything into consideration it does seem like the best plan but am i insane?

Thoughts? advice? Thanks.

i would probably go goe it on the 17th since it at your MIL house if anything you can always just sit and relax inside at times with the baby if you arent 100% for it. Oh and i would only do it if someone else is willing to take care of everythign even doing the hosting job that day

Do you know for sure you will have the baby by then? I only ask bc my DD was 9 days late by the time she actually came... And if you LO is late, could it ruin the party plans?

Pretty sure. My doctor wont let me go much past my due date so if he'll be there by then.

I *think* my sister in law would help a lot with buying stuff same with my MIL and my brother would do the cooking. So since its at their house where i can relax inside if neccesary it seems like it should be possible
