Has anyone been to Crayola factory in PA

DH is on vacation next week & we didn't plan anything yet.
The Crayola factory looks fun, any tips or things to do in the area with a 2 & a half year old?
Any suggestions on where to stay & eat would also be helpful, thanks!

We have been twice... both times while on, or on the way to vacation in PA.

We spent at least 3-4 hours there... there is so much to do! Play with modeling clay, make your own crayons and markers, coloring, spin art... it goes on and on!!!

They have a public parking lot right behind the CF and they have a small cafe (typical cafeteria food) but we usually leave for lunch and drive to a fast food restaurant ( we have picky eaters so Wendy's it is!)

My one tip is to get there EARLY!!! You can do so much more when it is still pretty empty. By 12 it is PACKED! and the kids get cranky waiting on line for activities.

Northlandz on rt 202 in Flemington, NJ.
There is also an outlet mall nearby. I have to look up the name of the place where I had lunch there. I will get back to you.

I was thinking of taking DD this summer. She will be 2 at the beginning of September. Is it worth it for us to go?

My daughter was 2 1/2 the first time we went... if your dd is 2, then you can do anything more difficult with them so i think it's just fine! Chat Icon

We've been there twice. The first time DD was 17 months and last time she was 2.5. Both times she had a blast, but could do a bit more at 2.5. We spend a few hours there. DH and I have fun, too. We love the photo booth that prints out pics as coloring book pages.

We stopped there on our way to Lancaster and Hershey so I don't have any advice on where to stay near Crayola.

ETA: The first year we just grabbed a quick lunch at the McDonald's next door, but now it's a cafe owned by Crayola. We ate there last time. But there are also restaurants/pizza places on the main strip.

Pearly Baker's Alehouse serves up local grass-fed beef burgers, and it's quite good all around as far as food in concerned.

We stayed at a Holiday Inn not too far from there because they had an indoor pool. Clean & nice.

I agree with the other posters on arriving there early. When it gets full, it's tougher to enjoy.
