Does throwing up make you feel better?
I'm 7 weeks and so super nauseous all the time, but especially at night. This may sound like a dumb question, but do you feel better after you throw up? I very rarely throw up in general and I've definitely been holding it in this pregnancy. I'm just scared that I'll feel that much worse if I let myself do it. I suspect that it won't be a choice for that much longer...

Does throwing up make you feel better?
Yes for a little bit but then it came right back. I had it 24/7 for the first 17 weeks.

Does throwing up make you feel better?
When I had MS, I hated to throw up but I really did feel better once I did.

Talk to your doctor about treatment for the nausea. I was able to take zofran when it was very bad.

Re: Does throwing up make you feel better?
I was very nauseated from 6-14 weeks but probably only threw up about 10 times in that timeframe. It didn't really help my nausea. Hope you feel better soon

Same for me. I was throwing up so much especially at the beginning that even after I threw up, I would feel nauseous all over again. That's how. I ended up on Zofran. It was a godsend.

Re: Does throwing up make you feel better?
Yes but only for a little while :( I would get the sickest at night too. Best thing is try to go to bed as soon as you can, the later I stayed up the worse. Hang in there first trimester was really tough for me this time around too but 2nd trimester is great no more nausea or puking!

Thanks everyone! I'm pregnant with twins this time and the nausea is definitely twice as bad as it was with DD. I'm just hoping that it passes soon. I've actually been shaking when it gets bad and DH is worried.

Also expecting twins here, and honestly everyone is different. I had MS from week 5 and up until now (31 weeks.) First trimester was a mess - tried everything (vitamin b, preggo pops, saltines, etc.) - but nothing worked. Doctor then prescribed zofran and it was a life-saver. First trimester I was yakking about 4-5 times per day (lost 14 lbs.)
Second trimester the MS subsided a bit, where I was yakking about 1-2 times per day and didn't take the zofran as much.
Third trimester, it's a lot better, and I yak about 1-2 a week, and don't take zofran at all.
Throwing up helped relieve temporarily but then the nausea returned and it was just a vicious cycle.
Twins are tough -- double the hormones!!!
Good luck!

Re: Does throwing up make you feel better?
With my first i felt much better if I got sick. If I didn't throw up I felt horrible all day. With my 3rd it didn't make a difference what i did. It would strike at any time.

Re: Does throwing up make you feel better?
When I throw up it's because I absolutely cannot do anything but throw up. There is no way I would be able to hold it in. I do usually feel a bit better afterwards but eventually the nausea comes back.
