Do you have any hard and/or red spots/lumps on your breast? If so, it could be a clogged duct or mastitis.

No red spots. I can't tell about the lumps sometimes parts are hard.

Could be a plugged duct, or it could be a sensation of refilling. Put a heating pad on your breast after nursing.

How old is your dc? I got that in the very beginning from around 2wks old to about 4/6wks. It did eventually go away. Heating pads and ice packs helped.

It could also be thrush, more likely if you had antibiotics, or vasospasm. I had the vasospasm thing, weird question, but do your nipples look white after your baby unlatches? That's a sign of vasospasm. It goes away with time, but putting a warm compress on immediately after baby comes off can help reduce the pain

Sounds like internal thrush. I had it for months. Message me if you have questions. My ob didn't know how to treat it. My LC told me what to have my ob prescribe

Vasospasm. I had/have it but the pain has decreased significantly. It's the nerves of the nipple being constricted and spasming, usually due to a shallow latch.

Massage the area that hurts, apply heat for the pain and work on making sure LO is latching nice and deep, with a big open mouth. It should get better with time.

These resources were helpful to me:

Yup. I had vasospasms and it was exactly as you described in the beginning. My LC said it was best to use a hot compress on the breast before and after a feeding to help blood flow to the nipple. It lasted until I was 6-8 weeks pp.
DD didn't always want to feed after using the heat and I ended up with plugged ducts as a result. So if your DC doesn't eat after using the heat be sure to pump to reduce chances of plugged ducts.
