You're turning 30 and a brand new first time mom...
What would you appreciate as a birthday gift from your best friend?
I am already babysitting while she and her DH go out to dinner.
Spa gift certificate? Piece of jewelry? She is the most easy going person on the planet. Won't tell me what she wants besides a nice lunch or dinner together. Is super appreciative of me babysitting... but I HAVE to still give a gift.
Would like to keep it around $200. Open to all suggestions! Thank you.

i was going to say babysitting so she could have a night out but you got that covered.
i would have loved a spa gift certificate (either for a massage or for a hair cut, mani/pedi etc) something to pamper her since life is all about the baby and she probably doesnt get much down time...at least i know i didnt.

Thanks!!! We have a local spa that she loves but hasn't been able to enjoy in awhile and I know money is tight with her being home with the baby.... I think I will do a spa/facial or even a spa/ haircut so she can enjoy before she has to go back to work.
Just needed to hear someone else think this was the right direction to go in

i definitely like the spa idea! I live in NJ... but I know spas around here have "mini spa day" packages that are like a massage and mani/pedi... or massage and hair cut/style. for around $200 or so. something like that would be awesome for her I think!! (as long as you know shes into that kind of thing- I know some people aren't)

Thanks  I am looking up their spa packages right now! See I think I second guess it because I am not into that stuff but I know she definitely is... and she lives walking distance to a great spa that people come from all over NYC/Long Island to go to.

This!! After I had DD, I had a hard time spending money on myself bc I just kept spending it on her! So any gift that she can use on herself only.

I know when I have time alone I would live to spend it with a friend. If you can swing it, how about you both go to the spa together and then for lunch? Or even manis and pedis together and then lunch?

Get out of my head 
I was just thinking she would probably love the company and we don't get to see each other as often as we would like. I'm not a massage person... I know I know... I'm strange 
But I would absolutely go get a mani/pedi and go for lunch after!
I'm sure my husband will love how I turned a gift for her into something for me as well lol

I remember after DD was born I went and got a full head of highlights, hair cut, etc. Felt like a new woman.

Yes! we go to the same hair salon 
She did just go get the " mommy chop" the morning of her baby shower... so only two months ago. She is also a dye virgin. Never has colored or highlighted her hair. CRAZY RIGHT? We are both weirdos... that's why we are BFFs HA! Meanwhile I've been dying my hair since I was 12

DH gave me a origami owl necklace with a "A" for Austin. No where near $200 but I loved it! Maybe that plus something else

I turned 30 6 months after having my first dc and my bf planned a spa day for us and my sisters. It was a lot of fun and afterwards we went out to lunch.

I would love something like this. I'm a first time mom and would love a piece of jewelry with my son's name or initial on it.

My close friends and I all turned 30 the same year. We all chipped in and got each other the same David Yurman ring for each bday. It was very sweet. The ring will always have a special meaning to me.

A year subscription to birchbox! Every month she gets a new box of full sized samples. You can customize your box if you prefer more makeup, more body, more natural...got my best friend one for her 30th and mom for 60th. Both loved it. I think it's $110.
Best part is every month you get a package. Kind of like beer of the month club for girls that like products.

I turned 30 when DD was 8 months old. A lot of people got me gift cards to go shopping, which I really appreciated. I hadn't bought any new clothes in a long time after having been pregnant and then losing the baby weight, so it was nice to finally get back out there and to buy clothes I felt good wearing.
