Ice Skating Party for 6 Year Old

So my soon-to-be 6 year old daughter wants an ice skating party (with a Disney Frozen theme). Most of the kids will be between 5-7. Do you think they are too young to ice skate? One parent is allowed to be on th ice with each child. Do you think parents are willing to do this?

My nephew is having on but is turning 8. I wanted to say my DS who is just about to turn 5 is going to go. My DH is going to take him. This is his first time ice skating and actually my DH is excited to take him.
I would love to have him invited to one when he is 6. As a parent I would have no problem skating with him. I'm sure some parents will love it and some won't. I'm sure some 6 year olds can skate on their own anyway.

We just took our kids skating for the first time this weekend...DC are 8, 6, and 3. So much fun!

My 8 yr old was fine from the start; my 6 yr old freaked the heck out at first, but in almost no time she was off skating with her friend without me. My DH attempted to take the 3 yr old, but quickly got off the ice because the little one was scared; we both took him out after that (each one holding a hand) and he didn't want to get off the ice then!

I can't speak for any other adult, but I've gone skating about 3x in my life--the last time being like 20 years ago--and I can't wait to go back!

There are a surprising number of adults who don't ice skate. Ask the people you really want there... We wanted to go with our friends & it was a no go (they were afraid).

As for kids, my 2 & 3 year old both skate. They love it & we've gone a lot this year!

Go for it. That sounds great and better a parent can go on the ice with them. Just took my 4 yr old the first time and he had so much fun. Couldn't skate that long, but when he took breaks he watched everyone else. They also have those walkers on the ice the kids can use.

I don't see why a parent would have a problem but if they did then they'll just decline.

I would do it if a parent is included. I would let my DD go but she would need an adult to skate with her. She has only skated 2 times before so not ready to skate alone. You might lose some if the parent doesn't want to skate...but you might get more if you put on the invite one parent is welcome to skate and assist. I would only be concerned if you weren't including parents.

We just went this weekend with my 3 and 5 years olds. They loved it and are dying to go back. DH took my 5 y.o. and I took the 3 y.o. It was a little rough at first for my little guy but once he got the hang of it, he was fine. I would be so excited to take DD to an ice skating party. I love the idea of a Frozen theme! Have fun!

The last time I ice skated was ten years ago, and I hung into the edge the entire time and my ankles bled from the skate s ...I don't think I could help my child skate :(

I would do it. If a parent doesn't want to skate then that is on them and their kid doesn't get to skate.

My DS is 2 and we have already had him on skates so 5-7 is def not too young.
