Follow up sono after amnio. Update at bottom
Well I woke up with my heart pounding. My amnio was 12 days ago after a scare with one of our twins. Today I go back for a follow up sono to see how little man is doing and I am hoping to get the rest of the amnio results. WE came back negative for Down's Syndrome and trisonomy 13 and 18, but there is still more. This has been such a long wait and I am praying everything goes well today. I hate having these sonos at the hospital bc they scare the life out of you!!! They give you no hope at all. Not looking forward to this but if you could send extra prayers, maybe that will help my baby boy! Thanks everyone!
I hate hospital doctors!!! My amnio came back normal. Baby boy is still showing less blood flow and dr said that probably won't improve. He did show 2 week growth in the last 2 weeks. But the dr said there's a chance the growth will just stop and he could "die" in me! (His words). Or if I decide to continue with my boy and not terminate, I risk very premature delivery and risk my baby girl. Again, they give no hope! I called my fertility dr that did my ivf bc we were so devastated. He is sending me to a high risk dr he knows for a second opinion. This is a nightmare and I can' never imagine making this decision.

I am so sorry you are going thru this! I was told early on that my boy might stop growing at some point bc his placenta is a lot smaller than my baby girls. They discussed what they call fetal reduction. They also did say if he stops growing before 28 weeks i could be jepordizinc baby a. It is very scary. I am 23 weeks and baby b has started to fall behind as they had said. The hope is that he continues to grow and is stable to 34w which would be ideal. I see dr kofinas and he always has a plan so i feel like I am in good hands! I wish you all the best!!!!!!

That is who Dr B is setting us up with!! I hope he can help and not just tell us to reduce the pregnancy

That sounds exactly like what they are telling me. Ours is the blood flow, but same situation. Did Dr. Kofinas recommend fetal reduction or was it a different dr?

He's a genius! Are you taking lovenox yet? Since this is a significant blood flow issue, my guess is he will put you on a hefty dose!

He's a genius! Are you taking lovenox yet? Since this is a significant blood flow issue, my guess is he will put you on a hefty dose!
I was on Lovenox but came off weeks ago. I feel like maybe I should have stayed on it!

It was kofinas but he was not recommending it just letting me know options which he has to do. He just moved me to 2 shots of lovenox a day. I am confident if anyone can get me far enough along where they are both safe it is him!'nn

I was on Lovenox but came off weeks ago. I feel like maybe I should have stayed on it!
I second, third and tenth Dr. Kofinas! He is genius! I have a lot of blood clotting issues and have very restricted arteries with this pregnancy that are not allowing ultimate blood supply to my baby. I was on Lovenox from the beginning, but he had me increase the dose to almost the highest I think and I'me since responding very well to it. He also put me on intralipids therapy which is a twice monthly infusion of natural soy based fats and other nutrients that my body wouldn't have absorbed otherwise. He actually mentioned a case where one of his patients had twins and one of the twins almost had no blood supply at all and he told the patient to give Intalipids a shot and the baby began thriving after only two weeks of treatment! They might be attacking the babies thinking they're foreign intruders... Again this is just part of my assorted bouquet of problems.
