Anyone have a singleton and then twins?
Just found out that I'm pregnant with twins. I already have a 3 1/2 yo DD. Please tell me that it will be okay. How did you adjust to going from one to 3 and how did you afford daycare?

Anyone have a singleton and then twins?
I had a singleton and twins - my ds was 22 months when his brothers were born
it seemed exponentially harder when I was pregnant but once doing it was not that hard - my boys are 4.5 and 2.5
rock n plays were great - I could hold or prop their bottles in their and feed them together - bottle propping is a necessary skill for multiple moms - sounds harsh to singleton parents - but feeding one after the other does not work
understand that you can hold two but generally you can't comfort two in your arms at the same time - go tot he easier one to sooth first
keep them on the same schedule- I actually found easier to tandem nurse - I had to supplement with formula but there are some moms who could do it all
ask for help especially in the beginning for middle of night feedings
we had a wipe board in their room like a daycare- with who was fed and when changed - we wiped it every 24 hours - it kept one from being fed back to back - especially in the middle of the night it worked if me and dh got up at different times
we went to a full time nanny because it was cheaper then 3 in daycare - my oldest went to preschool a few days a week - the best thing we got was a nanny with daycare experience because they are good with multiple kids at once - infant rooms are 1 to 4 ratio - it was our nanny who taught us how to prop and it helped save my back from leaning at a weird angle to hold to bottles in position
good luck it is so much fun to have twins - my look the same but are complete opposites so it makes everything interesting
and best double stroller when they are over 1 is a wagon - I have the step 2 and my older son even uses the cup holder spot as an extra seat

Re: Anyone have a singleton and then twins?
Thank you so much for the advice! I really like the idea of a white board in their room. I've heard that you have to get them on a schedule early so I guess I'll have to figure out how to do that. I'm really lucky that DH is a fantastic father. So at least I know I'll have his support. I think we're both just in shock right now. We never expected two.
