Late NT scan; with a baby who is always measuring 4 days ahead...
My nt scan is Thursday; I'll be 13 weeks 1 day however every sono has shown the baby measuring about 4 days ahead.... My friend who is tech is saying that if the baby measures ahead at this apt they will not get the measurements they need to do the test and if we get the storm they are predicting Wed into Thursday and apt is cancelled they will be unable to reschedule..... (They aren't there Friday -Sunday)..... Now I'm freaking out that they aren't gonna be able to do it..... How late did you all get your nt scans and was your baby measuring ahead?
Also, this time they send me to the lab for blood work instead of a finder prick like my last scan 4.5 years ago...???

The scan can be preformed from 11weeks to 13 weeks 6 days-timing is based on LMP. My maternal fetal specialist said many babies will measure a few day ahead (or behind) on scans but they use LMP as a standard. I would not worry BUT if you are concerned call your OB on Monday and discuss your concerns--maybe you can get the ultrasound done on Monday or Tuesday. As for the finger prick, I had other blood tests done on the same day and the blood for the test was drawn into a tube then spotted on the card. I have all my blood work done in the lab.

Late NT scan; with a baby who is always measuring 4 days ahead...
I went originally for my nt at 12 weeks 2 days but the baby was in the wrong position and would not move. They could not get the reading they needed that day. Because of Christmas/new years the next time I could get an appointment I was 13 weeks 5 days, literally the last possible day they could do the test. Thankfully the baby cooperated and they were able to get the reading and then sent me to the lab for the bloodwork. If they could not get the reading that day we would have been out of luck for the nt scan and had to decide if we wanted to do any of the other testing instead over the next few weeks. I believe a quad screening is what they would have done next if need be because I am too young and low risk for amino.

This is def not true because my LMP would have me at 14 weeks 1 day....we know when I ovulated because I was being monitored by the RE and that's the date they are using....
The measurements of the baby are what effects the test; so while we know I am not further a long the concern is that the baby will measure too big and the lab will reject the scan... (As per a sono tech)
I guess I'll just call tomorrow....although I know this was scheduled this day because of the tech availability in my office....

I do not think my doctor would lie. I also know when I ovulated since I was being followed by a RE and I am actually 4 days ahead based on ovulation but my MFM specialist has assured me that the four days will not have an impact on outcome. I had my NT scan at 12 weeks as per my doctor's instruction. If you count from ovulation your not going to have a 40 week pregnancy- it is counted as 38 weeks.

Mine was at 13 weeks 2 days (baby was also measuring slightly ahead the whole time) no issues!

What I'm trying to say for me; at least....this appointment was NOT based on my LMP otherwise I'd be passed the testing window....(over 14weeks)
