2 month old Question

Did you ever feel like you weren't doing enough? I sing to her, read to her, just hold her, I will show her a mirror or make faces, I lay on the floor with her for tummy time......sometimes I worry that I'm boring her or not doing enough. At certain points during the day, I put her in her bouncy or the swing so I can get some things done and then I feel so guilty! Anyone else feel like this or am I just crazy? lol

I totally felt this way! As some point my mom said - at 2 months old, everything stimulates them!! You're doing great

Nope. It's normal. They are babies and they take time grow I know I forget that! I'm like, he should be DOING things...but in reality, that's not the point. They have to take their time getting there. There's only so much stimulation and interaction you can do with infants.

As long as you are loving them and talking to them it is enough. don't drive yourself crazy. You do not need to entertain the baby every minute he is awake.

Based on what you wrote, you are doing wonderful. At that age, the best thing you can do is just be there for them emotionally - the holding, touching, talking to, and all of the affection goes such a long way. It is so important to respond to their cries and needs at that age - they say it makes a big difference in their disposition later on. So, as long as you are doing that - and it certainly sounds like you are, then you are doing a great job! It's hard when they are that age because they don't interact AS much as they do when they are older so you wonder if it is 'enough' but it's so true that everything stimulates them. Just wait, before long you'll see how much your child will interact back and respond to what you are doing. That will validate what you are doing is good and make you feel better - when you start getting the big smiles and giggles and other expressions/responses. It won't be too long - Julian started to smile and giggle and whatnot at like three months or so. It was so nice!!! And now, at five months, he is SO interactive and it just gets more and more each day!
