Post shower vent but small
How many people actually never Rsvp'd? I just find it quite rude that you can't just pick up the phone. In my case we have a nice relationship with our neighbors so we invited them. My dh talks to them mostly but then had to text their dh's to remind the wives to rsvp. One said we will call shortly but were holding out to see if they had to go away, & the other is a dr & was on call that weekend. OIk, I get it but my point is why couldn't they rsvp properly?
Neither one of the wives acknowledged the invitation but one of them does ask my dh where we are registered? It's on the invite!!! Grrrr
how would you feel? Vent over.

I was embarassed because some of my friends didn't rsvp and my MIL was throwing the shower. She was very laid back about it, but somehow I felt like it reflected on me.

Re: Post shower vent but small
RSVPing is a HUGE pet-peeve of mine!!!! I hate that ppl just don't do it and you have to chase after them! Not exclusively about showers, but relates to every event I've ever hosted! Common ppl, you don't live in a social bubble, you know how things are done! I hate hate hate having to chase after ppl, and prompt them to RSVPing...

I had to follow up with a few people who didn't rsvp. Annoying but not uncommon.

unfortunately it is not uncommon - we had to follow up with people for my bridal shower, my baby shower, my wedding and now for DDs first birthday
its so frustrating!

Exactly. All you have to do is pick up the phone.

It's not like I am dwelling on who wasn't there. I am grateful & happy for the people who were there. Its just that I notice these things.

did they ever acknowledge it even if it was after the fact?

My mom had a few no responders. One being my MIL! Apparently she hates me and hubby, oh well

Well two of them rspv'ed to me, a day or two before, so I had to call my MIL and tell her. And then my coworker never rsvped, she just showed up.
And a few of my DH's friends' wives never rsvped, and didn't come.
