counsyl test
My doctor asked if I'm interested in having the counsyl test done and gave me a pamphlet to read to help with my decision. Did anyone have this done? I'm torn whether to do it or not.

My doctor was on the fence about it and I'm not sure if it's going to create unnecessary worry since I'm already extremely high strung. I did have a bunch of the diseases it's covered tested for when I was meeting with my RE but not all of them. My obgyn said since there is no history of these type of diseases in either of our families and I've come up negative for the tests that were already run she doesn't think it's really necessary but still left the choice up to me.

counsyl test
I did. I found it to be a good piece of mind that DH and I weren't carriers for any of the same disorders

counsyl test
I had it done although I had individual genetic tests done at my OB's office prior to TTC. My OB omitted part of the Tay sacs screen and did not test for fragile x so my genetic counselor recommended I have the panel done. The results came back pretty fast. I recommend doing it.

My vote is get it. I'd rather be as educated as possible than not know. I had that done as well as chromosomal testing. DH and I, as well as our Dr. Thought it was important to see the big picture - but again that was pre-conception.

Re: counsyl test
I did it through my RE office...glad I did. Like somebody else said, it was nice to know that DH and I were not carriers for the same thing.
