RC Liberty of the seas cruise?

We booked our first cruise. We are scared and excited at the same time. We are going with a bunch of family so we didn't really have a choice on the location.

Has anyone been on this ship? What can you tell me about it?

What does one wear on cruises?

This should be interesting as DH gets sea sick & I am terrified of boats and large bodies of open water. Lol.

Re: RC Liberty of the seas cruise?

I've been on a few RC ships, not this one though.
Serenade
Explorer (twice)
Adventure
Oasis

Have fun ! Nothing to be scared of on the ship. It is like a floating city.

During the day, bathing suit and coverup, shorts and tees are the norm.
You have to be covered to eat in the buffet or restaurants.
Evening, we dress a little for dinner, dresses or dress pants and tops for the women, collared shirts and dress pants for the men.
Anything seems to go on the "Formal Night".
The men wear suits, and the women wear cocktail dresses. We don't do the evening gown stuff. Too much of a hassle to pack.

As we go on more cruises, my group has no problem wearing the same articles of clothing twice, and packing only a few pair of shoes instead of a pair for every outfit.

For off-ship activities, we pack sun hats or baseball caps, sunglasses, comfy shoes and lots of sunscreeen.
I like using a backpack to haul everything around, I prefer being hands free.

If DH gets seasick, get him seabands and the scopalamine patch, see what works best for him.
Fresh air is the best, so let him be on deck a lot and watch the horizon if he's feeling especially queasy.
It hits even the seasoned sailors.

RC Liberty of the seas cruise?

Haven't been on this ship or on RC but I've been on 7 cruises.

For the most part, you forget that you're even on the water. It's like a gigantic hotel/resort that just happens to be moving lol. Most of the time, you can't even tell that you're moving.

I bring bathing suits and coverups for during the day. Shorts, jeans, some nice shirts, casual shirts, some dresses, and definitely a cardigan or sweater for night time. I bring flip flops, sandals, comfortable walking shoes, and dressier shoes.

Belize and Cozumel are my two fav ports!
We did snorkeling in Belize (2nd largest barrier reef system in the world) and it was great. I also heard cave tubing was awesome.

Cozumel there is fat Tuesdays right at the end of the dock.so many margarita flavored so little time

We went on Liberty OTS. It was great; nice sized ship and fun to watch the Flowrider from the comfort of your room. Chat Icon
