Baby #2 questions...

Every time I go to the doctor I feel like I should be asking questions but I always lose my train of thought. What are some of you asking when you go see your doc? We are having a scheduled C-section this time...should there be things that I ask about that? HELP! LOL!

Re: Baby #2 questions...

This is my first time (twins) and I barely ask any questions, and I too am scheduled for a c-section.

However, my doctor keeps me informed without me asking.

Re: Baby #2 questions...

Crashing...
I had a sched C-section with my second. I remember not asking a lot of questions. Most of the stuff I can tell you. They'll tell you to come a couple of hours before the C-section schedule time and they really use every minute of that time. I remember my FIL thought it was ridiculous to go 2 hours before, but they still checked the baby, checked his HR, put in the IV, etc. The nurses I had were awesome and went over every single detail with me.
Also, you are paying for the anesthesiologist. Use them! If you a drop sick let them know. I did NOT want to get sick and I have heard people did so I had him give me meds when I felt nauseous. The moment he gave it through the IV I felt a calm after and no more sick.
The entire thing is pretty fast surprisingly.
Some docs even let you pick some music or play during the surgery.
Remember to walk when you can. It helps so much with the gas pain.
ETA - if you are doing chord blood banking you can ask your Doc about that or helping with recovery, what type of stiches do they use or if he does staples, etc. Also you just do your pre-op before and get bloodwork done and your band for the hospital already.

Re: Baby #2 questions...

I ask my OB zero questions... I see a high risk Dr as well and most of my questions are referred to him. But they have to do with my particular condition. I honestly have no idea what you can ask your OB before you're very close to delivery. I got all the info at the first appointment about Dos and Don'ts and all appointments in between are kind of time fillers ;)

Re: Baby #2 questions...

I don't ask many questions either, but I think it's because I'm still on the early side (16w). I'm having a repeat c also and I'm sure once it gets closer I'll have more questions! My doctor is also pretty good about explaining things and always tells me what will happen at my next appointment. Plus, because of LIF I feel I am already an expert! Chat Icon

Re: Baby #2 questions...

I haven't had any questions really up until this point. Now there are some health conditions with my baby boy, so I have more questions, but most of them I will ask when I see the pediatric cardio and not as many to my OB-Gyn..

I think it's fine to not have as many questions with your second!
