Genetic testing
Hi all,
Just went to a genetic counselor who wanted to send me for genetic testing because I have a daughter who has a chromosomal syndrome, a cousin with Down's syndrome, and a sister who died at 18 from a heart defect.......
I called my insurance company to see if the lab they wanted me to go to was in network. While on the phone with Magnacare they told me NO genetic testing is covered not even an AMNIO!
Has anyone ever had this issue?? It had nothing to do with my age or background there is just absolutely no coverage for it at all.
So needless to say this is going to be a scary pregnancy with twins!!!! Ugh

Genetic testing
Talk to your genetic counselor about having counsyl panel done: https://www.counsyl.com
They will charge out of pocket but it is usually much less than other testing.

Genetic testing
Ask your insurance company if a letter of medical necessity would help..I've done it for other things like a mammo and it's worked
