Has anyone stayed at Disney Dolphin/Swan?
I just booked Disney Dolphin for early March using Starwood points. My parents will be coming with us so it will be 4 adults and 2 kids (ages almost 3 and almost 5).
What is the best way to get to the hotel from the airport?
This will be the first time we don't rent a car in Orlando. We plan to spend most of our time in the Boardwalk and Epcot area. We may even skip MK altogether this trip.

I did for a for a conference. The rooms were a little outdated in style- think 90s pastel colored, but the location is great and they have a nice pool.
I took a mears shuttle, but you could also take a town car service.
Blue zoo is really nice for dinner.

Do you reserve the Mears shuttle in advance or just hop on once you get there?
Dolphin doesn't sound like it has great theming. I was originally going to book Yacht Club but it would have been $5000+ for 2 rooms. We had starwood points to burn so thought we could just stay at dolphin for free.

I will be going there in early march too, with my daughter s baby and 3 year old twins . I am just thinking about not renting a car to save some money. Do u know if they have pick up from the airport and how does the transportation to the parks work? Can u go to downtown disney without a car? This is going to be their first real vacation so excited but I just want to plan it right!

I prebooked it just because there was a conference discount if you did. The benefit to prebooking is not standing in line in the airport. You will probably stop at other places first, we were the third stop.
Honestly with 4 adults and 2 kids, it might be cheaper to do a towncar service. Look at happy limo, I think they can do a minivan and it's like 150 round trip. The mears shuttle is like 35 per adult round trip. Not sure on kids.
The dolphin is ok. I'm sure the yacht club is nicer, but it's so expensive and I would also pick free.

Re: Has anyone stayed at Disney Dolphin/Swan?
We used a car service. DH booked in advance and upgrade and surprised us with a limo ! : )
PS we had a great experience with the hotel and would stay there again (actually considering August if we don't got to Disneyland instead). We also used starwood points. It is super convenient as far as locations. No fancy theme but not needed. The dining was fine. My kids loved the pools, sprinklers, basketball court, etc. We had a great time! WE have gone to disney a lot and stayed in many hotels...animal kingdom, wilderness lodge. While more hotel like we didn't feel like we were missing out on anything. Really a great deal for families of 5+ esp!!!

We stayed there once using points and it was fine. Would do it again. I think we nears car service - not the shuttle. It was good. They have car seats too.

Re: Has anyone stayed at Disney Dolphin/Swan?
Is there a store that sells milk and drinks at Disney Dolphin/Swan or anywhere in that Crescent Lake area?
Not sure if I should place a garden grocer delivery order. We always went to a Target or Publix on our other trips. This will be the first time we don't have a rental car.

Yes. The Dolphin had a quick service place that was open 24/7 that sold half a gallon of milk and some drinks. We stayed at the swan a few years ago, and loved it! Enjoy!
