Eczema help!
Does anyone have a magical remedy for bad eczema?
Poor DD has it everywhere. It's never been this bad, usually just a patch on her back or leg. I really want to avoid a steroid cream, but I don't want her to be miserable.

I give him oatmeal baths every day & use moisturizers like aquaphor & babyganics eczema lotion. It's gotten a lot better. I wanted to avoid the steroid creams as well.

Eczema help!
You could try diluted apple cider vinegar followed by coconut oil. But if there are open sores, I probably wouldn't put something acidic like vinegar on her.
My magical remedy was to cut out dairy. DD became eczema free and we didn't even use lotions any more. I was hoping she would grow out of her dairy trigger, but I recently started eating a small amount of cheese and yogurt(still breastfeeding) and DD got a small eczema patch:( It's only a tiny patch so far so I'm going to try a little less dairy and see what happens.
My pediatrician dissmisses the diet connection and says if DD had a dairy allergy I would see blood in her stool. But seeing is believing for me. DD had eczema on her stomach, back, arms, and legs and it completely went away while we were dairy free.
I'm not saying going dairy free will help everyone- I know there are many possible triggers. I hope you can find what it is for your DD.

This. And sometimes wheat needs to be cut out too(speaking from experience with myself).

Definitely try the oatmeal baths. They worked wonders for DS1. You don't have to spend the $$ on the "baby oatmeal bath" packets, just grind some oatmeal up in the blender. It's the same thing. We also use oatmeal soap, and this lotion:Exederm

Does the eczema bother your little ones. My dr says my 4 month old has eczema as he has the red patches and dry spots but it doens't seem to bother him. The creams don't seem to be helping it go away either.

Hmmm...this has me thinking...DS has had eczema and constipation problems since being on milk-based formula. I am thinking of switching to Nutramigen or something non-milk based.
