Need a quick answer for a friend please - cold medicine
My friend is almost 9 months pregnant and has a horrible cold. All dr offices are closed and she wanted to take robitussin dm. Anyone know if that's ok? If not, what can she take? It's been a while for me so I only remember being allowed to take sudafed and even that I'm not 100% sure.

Dextromethorphan (the DM in Robitussin DM) is category C. She should NOT take it.

See and I've been told by my doctor and through my own research that it's perfectly fine. It's the pseudoephedrine or Phenylephrine that is to be avoided.
I was told DM is fine, D, not.

I was told DM is fine, D, not.
My Drs are very strict w/ medicines you can take, but they have both Plain Robitussin & Robitussin DM on the list of ok medicines. (Not the AC, though-which I think has the pseudophed).
But I don't think the plain or DM will help a cold, only a cough.
Plain nasal saline and lots of warm liquids work for me when I get a cold.

I officially have like my 5th cold so far
My doc will only allow me to take robitussin chest and congestion. None w the DM
So basically it stinks, salene mist and wash doesn't do much either when you have a cold
