Mucus relief
What can we take for mucus relief? Is that what Robitussin does? I'm not coughing but I just can't shake this cold! My nose is all red from blowing and I can't sleep at night in so stuffed up

My doc said Sudafed was safe in the second and third trimesters.
Feel better!

Re: Mucus relief
Sudafed has pseudoephedrine in it so I'd be weary of it.
Call your doctor and ask but you can definitely use Mucinex (original one) and a saline spray

Re: Mucus relief
You can also try Benadryl to dry you up as well

Yup it's the same. DM doesn't contain pseudoephedrine. D does.

Mucus relief
Also I used Claritin (original) to clear up stuffiness.
I also take elderberry syrup when I feel a cold coming on and it stops it in its tracks!

Would you consider elderberry syrup? It's a little pricey but man does it work!
Last Monday, I had a sore throat and was stuffy. Totally felt a cold coming on. I took half a dose of elderberry before bed and woke up feeling 100%! Then on Saturday, the stuffiness returned so I took another dose of elderberry. Next day and since - 100%!

Re: Mucus relief
do steam. let your shower run hot (shut off bathroom fan if you have) and shut the door. or you can do it over a pot of hot water or sink. a few times a day it will help break up things and get the stuff out faster.
